Hamilton & Marion Counties Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.ALocated in Indianapolis, Indiana, the counties of Hamilton and Marion were Medusa’s first US multi-agency implementation. Twenty-two EMS agencies make up Marion and Hamilton counties. In 2006, the two counties came together and implemented Siren, setting the bar to provide innovative and cutting-edge patient care technology to its communities. Marion and Hamilton Counties took advantage of Siren’s built in, multi-agency feature that facilitated continuity of care between its numerous agencies - and all providers in the patient’s pathway. Siren’s multi-agency capability also allowed Marion and Hamilton counties to view and report on aggregate data, while protecting patient data and confidentiality. Using Siren’s multi-agency feature, the Counties also reduced the cost of ownership while still owning an enterprise-grade ePCR solution. It was a cost-effective way of providing a regionalized and efficient ePCR program that allowed the EMS agencies to better assess their operations. Sharing their solution meant that Marion and Hamilton counties benefited from enhanced security, functionality, redundancy, and system integration than going it alone. In addition, reporting patient care directly to Indiana's syndromic-surveillance system was a massive benefit for the citizens of the two counties.

Mecklenburg EMS Agency Charlotte, North Carolina U.S.A.Although Mecklenburg EMS Agency went live with Siren v.1 back in 2004, the agency upgraded to Siren’s latest version in early 2007. The upgrade gave Mecklenburg an unexpected bonus of a multi-agency feature. They soon used this feature with neighboring agency, Mint Hill. Because Medic911 billed and Mint Hill did not, having the multi-agency feature allowed Mint Hill to have a different ePCR workflow. This meant that each agency saw only their own runs. The two agencies were also able to have their own set of close call rules: Medic had fields for billing, and Mint Hill did not. In a related note, Medic has enjoyed 100% electronic charting since going live in 2004. Not one paper chart in 5 years! |

The National Health Service (NHS), United KingdomNHS Connecting for Health supports the National Health Service in providing better, safer care, by delivering computer systems and services that improve how patient information is stored and accessed. The NHS has a multi-billion dollar initiative that has been underway for several years, with the sole focus of fully integrating data through the entire health system in the UK. After a global search, Siren was chosen as the ePCR solution, and has become the national standard for emergency medical patient care reporting throughout the United Kingdom. Multi-agency benefits for the NHS (and their Trusts managing the healthcare throughout the UK) include:
Medusa has 60% of the ambulances in England under contract to use Siren. Several Trusts have been running Siren for over four (4) years. An average Ambulance Trust employs over 3,400 personnel, 900 vehicles, and serves the population out of 60 base stations. |
